This school is a co education and a day school as all of you must be aware of what is a day school. There are 41 full time and 2 part time faculty members including 20US citizen, 16 host country Nationals and 7 persona of other nationalities. All overseas hires are certified and hold degrees from the US Universities with majority of the faculty holding fifth year or postgraduate degree. There are two semester system in the Karachi American School as the first semester is from August to December and second semester is from January to May. Admission to Karachi American School is highly selective and competitive. Qualified students capable of completing a demanding college preparatory program with a strong AP program are admitted. AP International Diploma is offered through AP course work. Admission is based on prior academic records, Standardized Test Scores, three letter of recommendation, Graded writing sample and an admission interview for parent and applicant. The School makes a conscious effort to preserve Size, ethnicity and gender in each grade level.

Extra and co-curricular activities are a part of each student and teacher’s commitment to Karachi American School. The school serves as a community activity center for Americans and other expatriates in Karachi. Sporting events, field trips, music organizations, cultural programs, student government, drama production s, The International Model United Nations, and numerous clubs provide activities for students, parents, and teachers. KAS has chapters of the National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, French and Spanish Honor Societies. Through its membership in the South Asia Inter-School Association (SAlSA), KAS offers students in middle school and high school opportunities to interact wit h students of other American international schools in varsity athletics, academic, music, and cultural exchanges at least four times a year.
