Basit Riaz Sheikh has won best paper award for his research

ISLAMABAD, Basit Riaz Sheikh, a Pakistani student at Cornell University’s AVLSI lab, has won best paper award for his research at a premier circuits and computer design conference.

Basit presented the design and implementation of a first high-performance asynchronous floating-point unit at a recent premier symposium on “Synchronous integrated circuits and computer systems design” held at Grenoble, France. The design includes the commercially manufactured microprocessors in nanoscale technology.
