According to a media report Punjab Govt has announced free Wifi in Lahore & E library project 2016. Under this project wifi boosters will be deployed at decided places and a scheduled range. Now general public could be able to connect free 2G, 3G even 4G wifi at metro bus and metro train stops, local bus stops, in public parks, in government hospitals and in markets. CM Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif has posted the responsibility to Chairman of Planning and Development Department during a meeting with chairman of Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
Sir CM Mian Shahbaz Sharif said them to allocate the budget and give the responsibility of installation of boosters to PC-1 as soon as possible. Alongside the Free wifi in Lahore the CM Punjab has also planned to set up E-Libraries to digitize the E-learning technology at public places. Under the E Library Project 2016, at public places digital booths will be fixed for optimizing to the e-books for relevant peoples.
