The International Conference on Earthquake Engineering and Seismology (ICEES – 2011) will be held in Islamabad, Pakistan, on 25 – 26 April 2011. This conference is being organized by the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), a globally high ranking university, a premier component of NUST, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (SCEE) and many other stakeholders in the field of Earthquake Engineering, Seismology and the associated issues.

The Kashmir Earthquake of Oct 08, 2005, had brought unprecedented destruction to Kashmir and neighboring regions. After an extensive investigation into affected regions by the Pakistani and Foreign experts, the Conference on Pakistan Earthquake and near regions will be held in Islamabad, Pakistan organized jointly by the Higher Education Commission and NUST Department of Earthquake Engineering. The conference proceedings will be compiled & provided to each participant. The selected papers may be published in NUST Journal of Engineering Sciences. This conference aims to summarize and further discuss the restoration and rebuilding of infrastructures into the earthquake prone zone in order to better serve the affected regions, in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the disaster.
