Under this scheme Prime Minister PM Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has declared that the students of the less developed areas could get free education for MA, MSc, M.phil, MS and PhD as the government will bear all the educational expenses of these students. The first step of this PM Scheme is going to initiate in the ares of Quetta from today 20th April, 2018 as the chairmen of this Scheme is Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The chair person of the scheme while finalizing the arrangement in the Quetta said in front of media that the government will focus on the most neglected areas of the Pakistan as these areas are totally neglected by the previous all government that is why we will give priority to these areas. The total volume of this current scheme is Rs. 1.2 billions in which more than 35000 students will be able to get the postgraduate education in over the Pakistan.

All the students either Male or Female who have enrolled them self for the Master and Ph.D program in any of the Higher education Commission HEC approved Public sector educational institutions are eligible to take advantage of this PM Scheme 2017.

Selected Areas:

Entire Regions of Balochistan, AJ&K, Gilgit /Baltistan, FATA, Interior Sindh, South Punjab.

Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, and Attock from PUnjab

Chitral, Lower Dir, Upper Dir, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Malakand, Kohistan, DI Khan, Tank, Lakki Marwat, Batgram, Kala Dhaka / Torghar, Kohat, Bannu, Hangu, Karak from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Agency executing this Scheme:

Higher Education Commission (HEC) will be the executing agency for this Scheme as the ministry of education and training will be in collaboration with the HEC and will help them to implement this scheme perfectly.

Number of Students and Tution Fee:

More than 30,000 students will be able to take advantage of this PM Scheme from all the areas which is listed above and an average annual tuition fee to be financed under the Scheme is Rs. 40,000.

The Higher Education Commission has announced PM Fee Reimbursement scheme 2018 for students of universities and postgraduate colleges. Students from less developed areas can apply for PM Fee reimbursement scheme. This scheme is for deserving students who belong to less developed areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir. Fee Reimbursement scheme 2018 is initiative to empower higher education and to provide assistance to those students who left their studies due to financial hurdles.

Students of government sector universities which comes under the territories of less developed areas are eligible
Aspirant must have the domicile of any of the area mentioned above
Evening program students can also apply for this scheme
Funds will only provide to students after the approval of their university or college
Those students who are registered on self-finance basis are not eligible
Those students who have domicile of other district but studying in any university which comes under the territory of less developed areas and vice versa is not elible
Candidates, who are already getting any other scholarship through HEC or PM scheme will also not consider eligible
